About the Role:
We are working with our client to find an experienced Procurement Officer who can take ownership of procurement operations and support the efficient delivery of essential services and projects.
This is a hands on role suited to a procurement professional who enjoys working across supplier management, purchasing, inventory control and stakeholder engagement. You will play a key role in ensuring goods and services are delivered on time, procurement processes remain compliant and operational teams have the support they need to achieve their objectives. 

Key responsibilities include:
• Managing procurement activities in line with organisational policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
• Coordinating inventory management and stocktakes to ensure accurate stock records and availability of materials.
• Supporting tender, quotation and sourcing activities across a broad range of goods and services.
• Building strong relationships with suppliers and procurement partners to achieve value for money and reduce risk.
• Providing advice and support to internal stakeholders on procurement processes and best practice.
• Delivering training and guidance to staff involved in procurement activities.
• Identifying opportunities to improve procurement systems, processes and operational efficiency.
• Monitoring supplier performance and maintaining procurement compliance. 

To be successful you will have:
• Certificate IV in Procurement or equivalent experience in a similar procurement environment.
• Demonstrated experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain operations.
• Strong understanding of procurement governance, compliance and probity requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A current Class C Driver Licence. 
Experience within local government or another public sector environment will be highly regarded.
