Our Client is seeking an experienced Procurement Lead to join their Melbourne team on an initial 4-month contract. In this pivotal role, you’ll manage all purchasing activities — from sourcing and supplier negotiations to ensuring the on-time delivery of raw materials and packaging. You’ll drive best value procurement while maintaining compliance with GMP, corporate, and divisional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee purchasing for indirect and contract manufacturers across Australia.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships, introducing competition and dual sourcing.
- Ensure timely material supply aligned with production and customer demand.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to meet company objectives and cost targets.
- Manage supplier performance, audits, and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate SAP purchasing data and produce monthly metrics reports.
- Degree in Science, Business, or Logistics (or equivalent).
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, medical devices or healthcare setting.
- Proven procurement and supplier management experience.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and planning skills.
- Knowledge of GMP, MRP, and import regulations.
- Proficient in SAP and MS Office suite.
