Are you a hands-on, technically strong Industrial Electrician with a passion for automation and advanced manufacturing? This is a rare opportunity to join a forward-thinking engineering and manufacturing environment, taking ownership of cutting-edge automation projects.

About the Role
As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and programming electrical and automation systems across the factory. You will work closely with the Maintenance Manager, Project Engineers, and your team to support both day-to-day production and new project implementation. You will also mentor apprentices and contribute to building in-house automation capability, replacing reliance on external contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, wire, and maintain electrical systems, panels, PLCs, HMIs, and safety modules.
  • Program and troubleshoot automation, robotics, blow moulding, and sonic machines.
  • Plan and coordinate preventative maintenance and production breakdown support.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal electrical safety regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance on new projects and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Mentor apprentices and support the development of junior staff.
  • Contribute to productivity initiatives, process improvement, and continuous innovation.
About You
You are a level-headed, self-driven professional with at least 8 years’ experience in industrial automation and manufacturing environments. You thrive under pressure, balancing urgent production issues with ongoing project work, and have a proven ability to mentor and lead within your field.

You will ideally bring:
  • Strong knowledge of automation, robotics, machine integration, and safety systems.
  • Experience with injection and blow moulding processes.
  • Expertise in PLC programming, panel building, and HMI systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of factory infrastructure and support systems.
What’s on Offer
  • Work in a highly collaborative and technically advanced environment.
  • Opportunity to lead automation initiatives and work with cutting-edge robotics systems.
  • Modern and safe facilities
If you are ready to take ownership of critical electrical and automation systems and grow your career in a technically challenging, innovative environment, we want to hear from you. For a confidential conversation, please email Grace Bitodi at gbitodi@onqrecruitment.com.au.
