Join a 6-month contract and play a key role in shaping the future of aged care in Australia. This initiative focuses on implementing national safety and quality improvements in response to aged care reform priorities. As Senior Project Officer , you will lead the development of clinical safety standards, manage complex projects, and work closely with stakeholders across government and industry to deliver meaningful change.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning and development of strategies and national guidance for Aged Care Standards
- Conduct research and analysis of literature, data, and policy papers
- Prepare high-quality reports, briefs, and documents for diverse audiences
- Manage projects end-to-end, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and risk management
- Provide secretariat support for committees and expert groups
- Consult with experts and stakeholders, coordinating formal consultation processes
- Foster productive relationships with agencies, clinical organisations, consumer groups, and contractors
- Present at meetings, forums, and workshops on relevant topics
About You
To be eligible, you must be an Australian Citizen , available immediately with a January start date (latest) able to commit to a 6 month contract (30th June 2026) and demonstrate:
Essential Skills & Knowledge:
- Highly developed communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent writing and presentation abilities
- Strong understanding of the Australian healthcare system and policy context
- Advanced research, strategic analysis, and interpretation skills
- Sound decision-making and professional judgement
- Proven project management experience with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder engagement capability
- Experience in policy development at national or state level (healthcare context preferred)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Clinical experience desirable
