This newly created leadership position offers the opportunity to design and implement a best-in-class compliance framework for a growing pharmaceutical organisation entering an exciting new phase in a new therapeutic area.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with the global compliance network, this role is responsible for enabling and protecting the organisation across all compliance and legal matters, while fostering a culture of high integrity and transparency.

The Opportunity

  • Set up and strengthen the local compliance function, integrating medical and corporate compliance within Australian and New Zealand operations.
  • Provide strategic guidance to the leadership team on compliance, legal, and risk management issues, ensuring alignment with global standards and regional regulations (TGA, GMP).
  • Serve as a trusted advisor across the business, enabling ethical decision-making and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Partner with global Legal, Compliance & Sustainability teams to ensure consistency, governance, and continuous improvement.
  • Supervise one direct report (Compliance Officer) and collaborate cross-functionally with Medical, Finance, HR, and Commercial leaders.
About You
You are a seasoned compliance leader with the confidence and integrity to shape a new role from the ground up. You thrive in dynamic environments where your expertise makes a tangible difference. You’re collaborative, strategic, and not afraid to speak up when it matters.

  • 8+ years’ experience in compliance, business ethics, or legal roles within the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector.
  • Strong understanding of Australian and New Zealand regulatory frameworks (TGA, GMP).
  • Skilled in risk management, change management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience working within global or matrixed organisations.
  • Legal background or qualification advantageous but not essential.
Why Apply
This is a rare opportunity to make your mark in a business that is expanding into new therapeutic areas. You will join a cohesive and high-performing leadership team that values honesty, ownership, and open communication. You will have direct influence, visible impact, and the backing of a global compliance network.
