Based in the heart of the Adelaide BioMed City precinct, our client leads the way in first-in-human studies across oncology, pain management, endocrinology, and medical devices.
We are seeking an exceptional Chief Operations Officer (COO) to lead a dynamic, multidisciplinary team and ensure operational excellence across  clinical, data, and participant engagement functions.
  
The Opportunity
As COO and a key member of the Executive Leadership Committee, you will work closely with the CEO to define strategic priorities and oversee operational delivery across the organisation. You’ll lead and inspire department heads, ensure quality and efficiency in clinical trial execution, and contribute to the organisation’s growth and continuous improvement efforts.
  
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop high-performing operational teams across clinical, data, and marketing functions
  • Oversee trial scheduling, resource planning, and execution to meet quality, budget, and sponsor expectations
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement across the organisation
  • Ensure strong sponsor and vendor relationships and resolve complex operational challenges
  • Drive strategic planning, performance reporting, and alignment with organisational goals
  • Foster a collaborative, values-driven culture focused on excellence, accountability, and resilience
  
What You Bring
  • Executive-level leadership in clinical trials, research, or healthcare settings
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver operational success
  • Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and conflict resolution skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in health/science; business management highly desirable
  • High emotional intelligence, with a proactive and adaptable leadership style
