About the role
We’re supporting a federal government agency involved in national health and aged care pricing. The analytics team works with large datasets, builds models and provides insights that guide major funding decisions across Australia.
This is a full time APS6 role based in Sydney, offered as a contract, working across analysis, modelling and technical support.


They are looking for a capable Technical Analyst (APS6) to assist with data preparation, modelling tasks, technical documentation and project support across a range of high impact activities.


What you’ll do

  • Analyse and reconcile datasets from hospitals, aged care providers and government sources.
  • Support statistical modelling, including cleaning, model design and impact analysis.
  • Assist in developing and improving a secure national benchmarking portal.
  • Prepare technical papers, documentation and reports.
  • Contribute to project support, documentation and procurement activities.
  • Provide technical insights and support to stakeholders.
About you
  • Strong analytical and technical skills with experience in statistical or mathematical analysis.
  • Able to write clear, efficient code in SAS, SQL or Python.
  • Confident working in policy‑driven or complex environments.
  • Strong communicator who can explain technical work clearly.
  • Collaborative, detail focused and comfortable in multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable: A degree in mathematics, statistics, economics or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
