About the Role
- APS6 Senior Procurement Officer
- Proposed Start Date 20th April 2026 (6 months with the possibility to extend)
- Classification: APS6
The successful candidate will work with business areas to deliver procurement activities across the full lifecycle, including planning, market approaches, evaluation and contract establishment. The role also involves providing advice on procurement processes and supporting complex or higher risk procurements.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver end‑to‑end procurement activities from supply planning through to contract execution
- Provide advice aligned with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and relevant legislation
- Support the development of tender documentation, evaluations and approvals
- Assist with probity, risk management, quality assurance and record keeping
- Work closely with stakeholders and suppliers to meet agreed timeframes
- Contribute to contract negotiations and transition to contract management
- Provide guidance and support to team members as required
- Demonstrated experience in procurement and/or contract management, ideally in government
- Strong understanding of Commonwealth procurement frameworks
- Confident stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under limited direction
- Certificate IV in Procurement and Contract Management (highly regarded)
- Experience leading a small team.
- Australian citizenship is required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance
- Pre‑engagement screening will apply
