About the Company
Our client is a Federal Government Agency whose primary function is to enable activity based funding for the Australian public hospital services through annual determination of the national efficient price and national efficient cost. They also provide the provision of advice to the Australian government on costing and pricing of aged care services as well as advice on health and aged care matters.
  
About the Role
This role is part of the Corporate Services Section of the Office of the CEO.  You will support the Manager, Corporate Governance and Risk and you will be required to review and update the Agency's CPA records authority and develop appropriate record keeping policy and processes. The role is also required to review and recommend improvements to Agency's Activity Tracking and Reporting Tool, which is used to monitor and track the delivery of the Agency’s work and provide oversight of the work to the Executive team.
  
Key responsibilities include:
  • Reviewing and updating the Agency's records authority
  • Updating and developing the Agency's record keeping policy and procedures to ensure consistency with their record keeping obligations
  • Other reporting required by the National Archives of Australia
  • Reviewing the Tool and providing recommendations for improvements
  • Implementing agreed changes to the Tool and providing ongoing maintenance and support.
About You 
To be considered for this role, you must be an  Australian Citizen  and ideally have:  
  • Knowledge of, or an ability to develop an understanding of, legislative and policy frameworks that meet the requirements of corporate governance obligations for a Commonwealth agency that is subject to the National Health Reform Act 2011; Archives Act 1983 and Archives Regulations 2018; Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013; Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles
  • Knowledge of disposal, sentencing and transfer of records
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project and Excel.
  • Ability to exercise judgement, think strategically and make appropriate recommendations about records management and reporting processes to achieve best practice.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, and the proven ability to liaise and communicate effectively and to obtain cooperation from staff at all levels as well as external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated excellent writing and editing skills, including contributing to policies, writing high quality briefs, meeting papers and other government documents.
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage competing deadlines, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
