Our client is a Federal Government Authority whose primary function is to enable activity based funding for the Australian public hospital services through annual determination of the national efficient price and national efficient cost. They also provide the provision of advice to the Australian government on costing and pricing of aged care services as well as advice on health and aged care matters.
About the Role
12-month contract position
$63 to 71 per hour (plus super)
Sydney CDB location, Hybrid
You must be available to start on 27 October 2025
This position assists in the management of administrative and project facilitation functions within the Acute Care Classifications section, including the contract and procurement processes that support the development of the following classification systems:
AR-DRG - Australian Refined Diagnosis Related Groups
ICD - International Statistical Classification of Disease and Related Health Problems
ACHI - Australian Classification of Health Interventions
ACS - Australian Coding Standards
These classification systems are used in public and private hospitals in Australia and have many other important purposes including epidemiological research, monitoring public health performance, disease patterns and trends, reviewing the quality of health care and patient safety, clinical research and management and are used to support decisions and policy relating to health care.
Your key responsibilities includes:
- Undertaking project management activities, including input into project planning and documentation; assistance with implementation; and monitoring and reporting on progress of projects
- Providing administrative support for projects, staff recruitment, contract, procurement management activities and manage shared mailboxes.
- Coordinating committee and consultation paper approvals and distribution
- Assist the team in drafting documents and/or correspondences using sound judgement, agreed formats and structured guidelines.
- Managing record-keeping of communication, documentation of project management, including documentation related to procurements and contracts and ensuring the section’s internal administrative, project and contract documentation is accurate and well-maintained.
- Manage website updates for the section
- Manage and maintain filing
To be considered for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen and have the following skills:
- Qualifications in project management, business administration, public administration or other related qualifications will be an advantage.
- Demonstrated high-level project management and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities, show initiative in meeting deadlines and develop productive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated capacity to be highly organised, work autonomously and as part of a team in a high performing, multi-task environment.
- Strong conceptual, analytical and research skills, including demonstrated sound judgement and innovative problem-solving skills.
- Proactive approach to managing complex administrative tasks.
- Experience in developing and implementing procedural, operational, corporate and administrative documentation.
- Proven ability to adapt to changing circumstances or requirements.
- Applies processes and frameworks consistently, and identifies improvements
- Proficiency in using the Office365 ecosystem and Microsoft Teams at the intermediate level is essential.
