As significant reforms to electoral funding and disclosure legislation take effect, the organisation is expanding its regulatory capability and seeking experienced professionals to support compliance, investigations and enforcement activities.

About the Roles
Opportunities are available at both APS5 and APS6 levels. Depending on your experience, you may be considered for roles ranging from conducting compliance reviews and supporting investigations through to leading complex regulatory matters, providing specialist advice and mentoring team members.

Working under limited direction, you will manage complex matters, analyse information from diverse sources, conduct regulatory assessments, and deliver high quality advice to support informed decision making. You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and provide guidance to junior team members.
These positions offer the opportunity to apply your analytical, regulatory, audit, compliance or investigative expertise in a highly visible and nationally significant environment.
  
Key Responsibilities
 
APS5
  • Supports compliance reviews and investigations
  • Works under guidance
  • Developing regulatory and investigative capability
  • Focus on analysis, administration, assessment and stakeholder engagement
APS6
  • Leads complex matters
  • Exercises greater judgment and independence
  • Provides advice to senior decision-makers
  • Mentors junior staff and contributes to strategy and continuous improvement
Compliance
  • Conduct detailed reviews of financial disclosure returns to ensure legislative compliance
  • Assess election funding claims and undertake complex compliance assessments
  • Support the administration and payment of electoral funding
  • Analyse information and identify potential compliance risks or regulatory concerns
  • Prepare high quality reports, briefs and recommendations
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members
Investigations
  • Conduct risk based investigations into potential breaches of electoral legislation
  • Gather, analyse and evaluate information from multiple sources
  • Utilise intelligence and data analysis to identify emerging risks and high risk behaviours
  • Prepare investigation reports, evidence briefs and stakeholder correspondence
  • Contribute to compliance and enforcement strategies
  • Mentor and support team capability development
About You
You are an experienced compliance, audit, investigations, regulatory, governance or assurance professional with strong analytical capabilities and sound judgment.

You will bring:
  • Experience managing complex compliance, audit or investigative activities
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • The ability to interpret legislation, policy and complex information
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to delivering quality outcomes
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Experience in accounting, finance, commerce, investigations, regulatory compliance or government environments will be highly regarded.
