We are seeking an experienced compliance professional to manage complex debt recovery activities within a Commonwealth environment. You will lead end-to-end recovery actions, interpret and apply legislation and policy, engage with a broad range of stakeholders, and provide high-quality advice to support compliance outcomes. This role suits candidates with strong debt recovery, investigations, compliance, regulatory or integrity experience who can work independently, manage sensitive matters and influence outcomes through effective stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage complex debt recovery and compliance activities.
  • Conduct investigations and recovery actions in line with legislation, policy and Commonwealth standards.
  • Prepare clear, evidence-based advice and recommendations.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement, negotiation and case outcomes.
  • Interpret legislation, policy and procedural requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and enhanced compliance controls.
About You:
  • Debt recovery, compliance, regulatory, investigations or case management experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of legislation, policy and governance frameworks.
  • Experience preparing briefs, reports and recommendations.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
  • APS, Commonwealth, regulatory agency or legal environment experience highly regarded.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a higher clearance if required by the Agency. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain national police check.
  • Australian Citizenship is a condition of eligibility.
  • Successful candidates performing this role may also be required to obtain an Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) organisational suitability assessment.
