Our client is a Federal Government Authority whose primary function is to enable activity based funding for the Australian public hospital services through annual determination of the national efficient price and national efficient cost. They also provide the provision of advice to the Australian government on costing and pricing of aged care services as well as advice on health and aged care matters.

This role is part of the Office of the CEO. The Office of the CEO is responsible for providing corporate and secretariat services with responsibilities including finance, procurement, secretariat, compliance and administrative corporate services. The role of the Procurement Officer is to support the Procurement Manager, CFO and Finance in providing advice and support across the branch for procurement activities.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Provide advice and support to staff regarding procurement activities, in accordance with the Australian Government’s procurement policy framework and accountability instructions
- Provide procurement and/or probity advice in support of the development of requests for quotes and contracts
- Undertake regulatory reporting
- Develop and update procurement templates, policies and guidance as required
- Participate in Quote and/or Tender Evaluation Committees as needed
- Assist with financial duties as required
- Assist in preparing monthly finance reports
- Provide training and support in SAP ESS
- The successful candidate will be required to work a minimum of two days in the Sydney office per week.
To be considered for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen and ideally have:
- Qualifications in Commonwealth government procurement or demonstrated commensurate industry experience
- Demonstrated high level organisational skills including time management, prioritising tasks to meet competing deadlines and the capacity to achieve objectives
- Demonstrated ability to use a Financial Management Information System e.g. SAP or similar software to accurately process purchasing and financial transactions
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel and, familiarity with electronic document records management systems such as TRIM or equivalent
- Highly developed attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise with a diverse workforce
- The ability to effectively negotiate outcomes and problem solve
- A demonstrated understanding of Probity principles in procurement
- Ability to start work on Monday, 14th July, 2025 through until 10th July, 2026
